Between 2018 and 2021, MJUMITA worked with We Effect and TFCG to support community forest management and sustainable livelihoods in Lindi Region. The project combined land tenure support with forest-based enterprise development, such as improved charcoal production, beekeeping, and Village Savings and Loans Associations. Communities received training in forest law, financial governance, and natural resource planning. Women and youth were engaged as key decision-makers and enterprise leaders. The initiative strengthened forest governance structures, secured community rights, and improved local incomes, proving that investing in people and ecosystems together creates lasting, mutually reinforcing results.
