MJUMITA supports communities to establish village land forest reserves (VLFR) as a means to promote sustainable management and utilization of the resources therein. The establishment of the VLFR enables the communities to receive tangible benefits through sustainable utilization of the forest through sustainable harvesting of trees, carbon credits, eco-tourism and other environmental and ecological benefit streams. MJUMITA supports villages to develop village land use plans in order to promote sustainable land uses and natural resources management.
